Juicy, sweet, healthy, and vibrant, the papaya is a tropical fruit-bearing tree native to Central and South America. It’s rich in color, full of vitamins, and a gorgeous landscape treat. Papaya’s large palmate leaves can reach up to 10 feet in height! The sweet taste & fast growth of our ‘Red Lady’ variety is an excellent choice for southern gardens or as a tropical container plant in the north.

Note: arrives in a grower’s pot. Fruit may not be in season at time of shipping.

Water frequently, but keep in mind: any factor such as cool or cold temperatures, lack of water, high constant winds, or shade will reduce papaya growth and production.
Plant these cuties in full sun.
They thrive outdoors in zones 9-11. Tip: keep your plant potted in a 8″ container so you can bring it indoors when temperatures drop below 50°F!
Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer 3-4 times a year with a pH of 4.5-8. Make sure to use well-drained, loamy soil.
Papayas can grow 8-10 ft. tall and 4-6 ft. wide.
Fruits in summer & fall soon after the first year.
