Details

The rare, tropical cherimoya plant is a true orchard gem, prized for producing one of the world’s most beloved fruits. Often called the “custard apple,” cherimoya is known for its creamy, custard-like flesh with a sweet flavor reminiscent of banana, pineapple, vanilla, and strawberry.

Note: arrives in a grower’s pot. This plant is shipped without fruit.

Cherimoya prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil but does not tolerate soggy conditions or standing water. Reduce watering during the cooler months when growth naturally slows.
They thrive in full sun, requiring at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight each day for the healthiest growth and best fruit production.
If planting outdoors, keep in zones 9-11. In colder climates, keep above 32°F!
Feed with a balanced, slow release fruit tree fertilizer during the growing season, typically in spring and summer.
Cherimoya can grow 15-30 ft. tall and 15-20 ft. wide when planted in the ground. With occasional pruning, they can be maintained at 8-12 ft., making them easier to harvest and well suited for home gardens.
Fruits from late fall through early spring, with harvests typically beginning around the sixth year.
